Paige: A Recipient Raises Her Sights—and Successes
Paige was only six years old when a vacation Bible school session took an unfortunate turn. A carelessly-wielded pencil ripped a diagonal tear across her cornea, drastically marring her field of vision.
“I am the 75-meter hurdle champion in my county, and I am a corneal graft recipient!”
From Imperiled to Powerhouse
Paige’s fortune reversed when a cornea transplant saved her eye and sight. Today, she is a poised and talented young lady, and revels in sharing her story and successes: She is the middle-back and spiker for her volleyball team, the second baseman on her softball team and a basketball point guard. She is a cheerleader for the boy’s basketball team. She has consistently qualified for her state’s Hershey’s track meet.
"I am the 75-meter hurdle champion in my county, and I'm a corneal graft recipient!" Paige exclaims.
